A pair of blue cotton boxers with a white calla lily embroidered on the front flap.
Getting my first pair of boxers felt like a strange rite of passage. I remember needing to work up the courage to ask for them. I can’t remember exactly how old I was, but it was an age when I had little autonomy, so the simple success of getting what I asked for — a pair of Life is Good boxers — felt freeing.
