ABOUT US

ASHER YOUNG STUDIO

Asher Young Studio (AYS) is a creative direction, design, and producing studio based in New York City. Ranging from art installations to immersive theater to concert tours, every project's creative narrative is established through a rigorous artistic process and invites audiences to be the protagonist in the work.

ASHER YOUNG

Asher Young is a New York-based artist who started out creating theatrical haunted houses instead of going trick-or-treating as a kid. A childhood education in magic ignited a love of performance and communal spectacle, leading him to design and direct theater and music shows. He graduated from Yale with a degree in Computing and the Arts – an interdisciplinary program that combines computer science, art, music, and theater – and received the Susan J. Smith Prize for outstanding contribution in the Arts. Asher spent a few years creating new shows at an immersive theatrical production company before leaving to pursue his own artistic practice full-time, focusing on developing original work individually and with a wide range of collaborators.

He has put A$AP Rocky through physical and psychological tests on the sales floor of Sotheby’s; tied up 40 audience members in shibari ropes and served them tuna after an aerial duet; developed a three-dimensional hologram to represent memory and physicalize lost loved ones; brought together 30 artists and researchers to project onto Yale’s rare book and manuscript library; and woven 33,000 milliwatts of light through a garden of tress to represent mycorrhizal networks.

ANGELINE WANG

Angeline Wang is a creative producer for audience-centric, formally-inventive live experiences. Previous projects have led her to circus fairgrounds, a botanic garden, Manhattan nightclubs, concert venues, Genovese and Sicilian shipyards, a Long Island mansion, and a voyage across the Atlantic Ocean on a new cruise ship. She was born and raised in Houston with childhood summers spent in Taipei; holds a BA from Yale University in Comparative Literature; and has previously worked at WME, Remarkable Entertainment, and Second Stage Theatre.
